Semi-Active Ride Control

Semi-active ride control mode commands vehicle dynamic module to turn soft (powered) or firm (no power) any of the 4 shock absorbers. This mode is used to determine if an individual shock absorber is functioning properly. By turning a shock to soft setting, and bouncing on corresponding fender, technician should be able to freely bounce vehicle. By turning a shock to firm setting, and bouncing on corresponding fender, technician should notice a distinct lack of free motion in suspension. This function is also useful for finding intermittent faults in wiring harness. By turning an actuator to soft setting, and tugging on vehicle wiring harness, a clicking sound can be heard from actuator when a fault occurs.
