System Test K: Trunk Ajar Warning Never/Always On
- Check For DTC B1334 - Connect NGS tester following manufacturer's instructions. Turn ignition on. Enter DIAGNOSTIC DATA LINK. Enter VIC - VIRTUAL IMAGE CLUSTER MODE. Enter DIAGNOSTIC TEST MODE. Retrieve DTCs. If DTC B1334 does not exist, go to next step. If DTC B1334 exists, see AUTOLAMP SYSTEM article.
- Check Trunk Ajar Message - Open trunk. Turn ignition on. If warning light appears, go to next step. If warning light does not appear, go to step 4).
- Close trunk. If warning light does not go out, go to step 5). If warning light goes out, no problem is indicated at this time.
- Check Trunk Ajar Input - Connect NGS tester following manufacturer's instructions. Turn ignition on. Enter DIAGNOSTIC DATA LINK. Enter LCM - LIGHTING CONTROL MODULE. Enter PID/DATA MONITOR and RECORD. Select PID: DECK LID - DECK LID AJAR STATUS. Leave trunk lid ajar. Press START button. If PID displays DECK LID AJAR, replace EIC, then retest system. If PID does not display DECK LID AJAR, inspect Brown/White wire for open circuit between lighting control module terminal No. 17, located under left side of instrument panel, and trunk lid switch. If wire is okay, test for open switch. Repair wire or replace switch as necessary.
- Connect NGS tester, following manufacturer's instructions. Enter DIAGNOSTIC DATA LINK. Enter LCM - LIGHTING CONTROL MODULE. Enter PID/DATA MONITOR and RECORD. Select PID: DECK LID - DECK LID AJAR STATUS. Close trunk lid. Press START button. If PID displays DECK LID AJAR, inspect Brown/White wire for short circuit between lighting control module terminal No. 17, located under left side of instrument panel, and trunk lid switch. If wire is okay, test for stuck switch. Repair wire or replace switch as necessary. If PID does not display DECK LID AJAR, no problem is indicated at this time.
