Quick Checks
- With ignition off, simultaneously press and hold all 3 CCA switches. While pressing switches, turn ignition on. Verify test mode by observing new numbers in speedometer and odometer windows. Replace cluster if any CCA symbol flashes. MCCA symbols may flash. This is normal.
- Turn ignition off or press speed alarm switch to exit this test. Turn ignition on. Check CCA and MCCA displays for normal operation. If displays are dim, ensure headlights are off and dimmer rheostat is set to HIGH. If display is still dim, bulbs may be burned out.
- If CCA display is blank and MCCA is okay, wiring to CCA bulbs is open or CCA bulbs are burned out. If MCCA display is blank and CCA is okay, wiring to MCCA bulbs is open or MCCA bulbs are burned out.NOTE: If displays are blank, cluster may be okay but bulbs may be burned out. Following step checks for this condition.
- Turn headlights off. Turn ignition on. Shine a strong light onto front of EIC displays. If EIC displays are working, a faint image of normal display will appear. Go to PINPOINT TESTS if display is not lit, is too dim, or is totally blank.
