Test M (Code 72): Door Close Signals Not Detected

NOTE: For TEST "M" pin test connector locations. See Fig 1.
  1. Turn air suspension switch to OFF position. Disconnect control module connectors. Measure voltage between pins No. 5 and 6 of Gray control module connector. Leave meter connected during entire test. Open and close each door. Meter should indicate battery voltage with doors opened and zero volt with doors closed. If battery voltage is present with doors opened and zero volt with doors closed, go to next step. If zero volt is present all the time, leave meter connected and go to step 3). If battery voltage is present with doors opened or closed, leave meter connected and go to step 6).

  2. Repeat SERVICE BAY DIAGNOSTICS under TESTING & DIAGNOSIS. During manual tests, forcefully open and close door. Observe error codes. If Code 72 is displayed, replace control module. If error Code 72 is not displayed, system is okay.
  3. Open each door not indicating battery voltage one at a time. Manually depress door switch several times while observing meter. Meter should indicate battery voltage with switch released, zero volt with switch depressed. If meter reading is correct, adjust door switch. If no voltage exists, leave meter connected and go to next step.
  4. Disconnect door switch connector. Measure voltage at connector between circuit No. 54 (Light Green/Yellow wire) and ground. Meter should indicate battery voltage. If battery voltage is present, leave meter connected and go to next step. If zero volt is present, repair open in circuit No. 54 (Light Green/Yellow wire) between door switch and fuse box. If dome light works, 10-amp fuse is okay.
  5. Connect fused jumper wire between circuit No. 54 (Light Green/Yellow wire) and circuit No. 159 (Red/Pink wire driver's door) or 24 (Dark Blue/Orange wire other doors) and observe meter. Meter should indicate battery voltage. If battery voltage is present, replace door switch. If zero volt is present, repair open in circuit No. 24 (Dark Blue/Orange wire) between door switch and control module. See Figure.
  6. Disconnect door switches one at a time and leave disconnected. Observe meter each time a switch is disconnected. If meter drops to zero volt when switch is disconnected, replace door switch. If meter still reads battery voltage with all 4 door switches disconnected, repair short to battery in circuit No. 159 (Red/Pink driver's door) or circuit 24 (Dark Blue/Orange wire other doors).
