Test J (Code 68): Height Sensor Output Shorted

  1. Turn air suspension switch off. Disconnect height sensor electrical connector. Turn air suspension switch to ON position. Perform SERVICE BAY DIAGNOSTICS under TESTING & DIAGNOSIS. If Code 68 is displayed, go to next step. If Code 71 is displayed, replace height sensor. Repeat SERVICE BAY DIAGNOSTICS under TESTING & DIAGNOSIS.
  2. Turn air suspension switch to OFF position. Disconnect control module connectors. Measure resistance between pins No. 6 and No. 3 of Gray module connector. See Figure. Meter should indicate more than 10,000 ohms. If resistance is more than 10,000 ohms, go to next step. If resistance is 10,000 ohms or less, circuit No. 428 has short to ground. Go to next step before making repairs.
  3. Measure resistance between pins No. 6 and No. 17 of Gray module connector. See Figure. Meter should indicate more than 10,000 ohms. If resistance is more than 10,000 ohms this step and step 2), replace control module. Repeat SERVICE BAY DIAGNOSTICS under TESTING & DIAGNOSIS. If resistance is 10,000 ohms or less in this step and/or step 2), repair short to ground in circuit No. 427 and/or circuit No. 428. Repeat SERVICE BAY DIAGNOSTICS under TESTING & DIAGNOSIS in this article.
