Test B (Code 42): Air Spring Solenoid Shorted

NOTE: For TEST "B" pin test, connector, fuse and relay locations. See Figure.
  1. Remove and inspect 30-amp fuse for circuit No. 414 (Orange/Red wire) located in fuse/relay box, behind battery. See Fig. 9. for location of fuse. If fuse is good, go to next step. If fuse is blown, repair short to ground in circuit No. 414. Replace 30-amp fuse and repeat SERVICE BAY DIAGNOSTICS under TESTING & DIAGNOSIS.
    NOTE: If circuits No. 416 (Light Blue/Black) or No. 429 (Purple/Light Green) are shorted to ground, the corresponding spring solenoid valve will always be open, even with ignition off.
  2. Turn air suspension switch off. Disconnect control module connectors. Turn air suspension switch on. Measure voltage between pins No. 13 and No. 6 of control module connectors. If 12 volts are present, go to next step. If zero volts are present, circuit No. 429 (Purple/Light Green wire) has short to ground. Go to next step before repairing.
  3. Measure voltage between pins No. 25 and 6 of control module connectors. Voltage should be 12 volts. If 12 volts is present in this step and step 2), replace control module. Repeat SERVICE BAY DIAGNOSTICS under TESTING & DIAGNOSIS. If zero volts is present in this step and/or step 2), repair short to ground in circuit No. 416 and/or circuit No. 429. Repeat SERVICE BAY DIAGNOSTICS under TESTING & DIAGNOSIS.
