Air Spring Fill Procedure

CAUTION: Electrical power supply to air suspension system must be turned off prior to hoisting, jacking or towing vehicle. This can be done by disconnecting battery or turning OFF air suspension switch, located in trunk. See Figure and Figure.

NOTE: Manufacturer recommends using new fasteners whenever old fasteners are loosened or removed and when new component parts are installed.

CAUTION: When installing deflated air springs on vehicle, lower hoist as required. DO NOT apply any load to suspension until air springs are inflated for at least 90 seconds

Support frame so rear wheels are off ground with no load on suspension. Turn air suspension to ON position. See Figure and Figure. Ignition switch must be ON and engine running, or a battery charger must be connected to reduce battery drain.
Remove right luggage compartment trim panel. Connect STAR/SUPER STAR II tester to diagnostic connector. See Figure. Set STAR/SUPER STAR II tester to EEC-IV/MCU mode. Also set SUPER STAR II tester to FAST mode. Release tester button to HOLD (up) position and turn on tester.
Depress tester button to TEST (down) position. Code 10 will appear. Within 2 minutes Code 13 will be displayed. After Code 13 is displayed, release tester button to HOLD (up) position, wait 5 seconds and depress tester button to TEST (down) position. Ignore any codes displayed.
Release tester button to HOLD (up) position. Wait at least 20 seconds, then depress tester button to TEST (down) position. Within 10 seconds, the following codes will start to be displayed:
- Code 23 - Vent Rear
- Code 26 - Compress Rear
- Code 31 - Cycle Compressor
- Code 32 - Cycle Vent Solenoid
- Code 33 - Cycle Spring Solenoid
Within 4 seconds after Code 26 is displayed, release tester button to HOLD (up) position. The compressor will fill air springs with air as long as tester button is in HOLD (up) position. To stop filling, depress tester button to TEST (down) position. To exit procedure, disconnect tester and turn ignition switch off.
