Removal (5.8L)

  1. Disconnect negative battery cable and drain cooling system. Remove air cleaner assembly. Disconnect linkage at carburetor. Mark and disconnect electrical connectors and vacuum lines as necessary. Mark and disconnect spark plug wires and remove distributor cap assembly.
  2. Disconnect fuel line at carburetor. Mark position of distributor and remove distributor assembly. Remove necessary coolant hoses. Remove by-pass hose at thermostat housing. Remove intake manifold and carburetor assembly.
