Alternator Indicator (Except Sable & Taurus)

  1. Disconnect alternator voltage regulator. Connect a jumper wire between terminal "I" and ground. Turn ignition on. Indicator bulb should glow at full brightness.
  2. If bulb does not come on, check bulb for continuity and replace if necessary. If bulb is not burned out, check wiring between ignition switch and regulator. Check 500-ohm resistor across indicator light.
