Fuel Gauge CS Displayed
- Disconnect instrument panel harness (14401) from rear lights harness (14405) connector, under instrument panel, at fuse block. Place ignition switch in ACC position. If CS is displayed, go to next step. If CO is displayed, go to step 3).
- Remove and disconnect EIM. Check for short between pin No. 11 (Yellow/White wire) and pin No. 13 ground (Black/White wire) of 18-pin EIM harness connector. Resistance should be between 15 and 160 ohms. If okay, replace EIM. If resistance is less than 15 ohms, go to next step.
- Lower fuel tank to access fuel gauge sending unit connector. Disconnect sending unit. Check resistance again between pin No. 11 and pin No. 13 of EIM connector. If resistance is greater than 10,000 ohms, replace sender. If resistance is less than 15 ohms, trace circuit No. 29 (Yellow/White wire) for short to ground.
