Stabilizer Bar: Removal

  1. Turn off air suspension switch. Air suspension switch is located behind trim panel in left side of trunk. See Figure . Using a body hoist, raise vehicle.
  2. Remove nuts, washers and insulators attaching stabilizer bar to stabilizer bar links.
    NOTE: Stabilizer bar links have break-away threads at bottom for clearance purposes.
  3. Remove and discard stabilizer bar bracket bolts and stabilizer bar-to-body bolts. Remove stabilizer bar. Replace insulators if damaged or worn.
  4. Remove retaining nut, washer and insulator retaining stabilizer bar link to strut bracket. Discard retaining nut. It may be necessary to hold stabilizer bar link nut while rotating stabilizer bar link with open end wrench at flats. Replace insulators if worn or damaged.
