Wheel Bearing: Removal

  1. Remove steering knuckle. See STEERING KNUCKLE under FRONT SUSPENSION REMOVAL & INSTALLATION  . Using Puller (D80L-1002-L) and Shaft Protector (D80L-265-1), press hub from steering knuckle. See Fig 1 .

  2. Remove bearing retaining snap ring from steering knuckle. Using press, Bearing Remover (T83P-1104-AH2) and Space (T86P-1104-A2), press wheel bearing from steering knuckle.
  3. Steering knuckle should be positioned with outer area of steering knuckle toward the press when removing wheel bearing. Spacer should be positioned with stepped side against steering knuckle.
NOTE: Wheel bearing must be replaced if removed from steering knuckle.
