Upper Mount & Bearing Assembly: Removal

Remove strut assembly. See STRUT under FRONT SUSPENSION REMOVAL & INSTALLATION . Remove solenoid clip. Rotate air spring solenoid counterclockwise to first stop. See Figure .
Pull air spring solenoid downward to second stop and allow remaining air to bleed from system.
CAUTION: DO NOT fully release air spring solenoid until all air is bleed from air spring.
Rotate air spring solenoid counterclockwise to third stop. Remove air spring solenoid from air spring.
Place rebound plate loosely in vise. See Figure . Use flat area on rebound plate for mounting purposes. Other end of strut should rest on bench. Remove nut and rebound plate. Remove upper mount assembly and radial ball bearing. Remove retainer plate and "O" rings.
