Strut Noise Check

  1. Bounce vehicle and try to isolate noise. Ensure steering knuckle or spindle-to-strut bolt torque is within specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS  table.
CAUTION: Steering knuckle or spindle-to-strut bolts contain a locking material on threads. Loose bolts may appear to have correct torque when joint is actually loose. Replace bolts and tighten to specification.
  2. Ensure all remaining strut fasteners are within specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS  table. Ensure all rubber insulators are properly installed.
  3. Inspect connecting joints for damaged threads. Replace components as necessary. If noise still exists, remove strut and proceed to STRUT BENCH TEST  .
