Suspension Description & Operation - Air: Description

Air suspension system combines air leveling and dual action ride control in one system. See Figure . Air leveling maintains vehicle at correct level under different load conditions. Dual dampening riding control switches struts between a soft and firm ride.

System consists of an air compressor, struts, height sensors (one on rear and 2 on the front), air spring solenoids, door switches, air suspension control module, air suspension switch, actuator relay, brake pressure switch and steering sensor. Struts contain an internal air spring and externally mounted dampening actuator.
