Pinpoint Test FP

  1. If warning is always on when high fluid level is high, go to step 2). If warning never comes on when fluid level is low, go to step 5).
  2. Turn ignition off. Disconnect connector from fluid sensor. Turn ignition on. If warning appears, go to step 3). Service fluid sensor if warning does not appear.
  3. Turn ignition off. Disconnect 4-pin connector, located near voltage regulator. Turn ignition on. If warning still appears, go to step 4). Repair short in circuit No. 82 (Pink/Yellow wire) in harness if no warning appears.
  4. Turn ignition off. Remove EIC. With an ohmmeter, check for continuity between EIC harness connector pin C10 (circuit No. 82, Pink/Yellow wire) to pin C4 (circuit No. 676, Pink/Orange wire). If continuity exists, repair short in circuit No. 82. Replace message center module if there is no continuity.
  5. Turn ignition off. Disconnect connector from sensor. Connect jumper wire across harness connector. Turn ignition on. Service windshield washer fluid level sensor if warning appears. Go to step 6) if warning does not appear.
  6. Turn ignition off. Disconnect 4-pin connector, located near voltage regulator. Connect jumper wire between pin C10 (circuit No. 82, Pink/Yellow wire) and ground. Turn ignition on. Repair open in circuit No. 82 (Pink/Yellow wire) in harness if warning appears. If warning does not appear, go to step 7).
  7. Turn ignition off. Remove EIC. With an ohmmeter, check for continuity between EIC harness connector pin C10 (circuit No. 82, Pink/Yellow wire) to pin C4 (circuit No. 676, Pink/Orange wire). If continuity exists, replace EIC. Repair open in circuit No. 82 if there is no continuity.
