Pinpoint Test FN

  1. Park vehicle on a level surface. Check engine oil level with dipstick. Fill with oil as necessary. Turn ignition off. Wait 2 minutes. Turn ignition switch to RUN position. Check messages for LOW OIL LEVEL warning. If no warning is displayed, system is operating normally.
  2. If LOW OIL LEVEL warning is displayed, turn ignition off. Disconnect wire from oil level sensor. Wait for 2 minutes. Turn ignition switch to RUN position. Check messages for LOW OIL LEVEL warning. If no warning is displayed, replace oil level sensor.
  3. If warning is displayed, remove electronic instrument cluster. Disconnect wire from oil level sensor. Measure resistance between EIC connector pin A21 (circuit No. 258, White/Pink wire) to pin C4 (circuit No. 676, Pink/Orange wire). If there is an open circuit in wiring, replace EIC. If there is continuity, repair circuit No. 258 (White/Pink wire) for short.
