Pinpoint Test FM

  1. Replace any defective bulbs. If bulbs are okay, refer to LAMP-OUT MODULE DIAGNOSTICS  to service lamp-out module. If module is okay, go to step 2). Replace module if it fails lamp-out module diagnostic tests.
  2. Remove EIC. See ELECTRONIC INSTRUMENT CLUSTER (EIC) under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION  . Turn ignition on. Connect test light between battery and EIC connector pin specified in step 3), 4) or 5) as appropriate. If problem is HEADLAMP warning, go to step 3). If problem is TAIL LAMP warning, go to step 4). If problem is BRAKE LAMP warning, go to step 5).
  3. Turn on headlights. Connect other test light terminal to pin A35 (circuit No. 130, Red/Light Green wire). If test light glows, replace EIC. Repair short in circuit No. 130 if test light does not glow. See IDENTIFYING EIC CONNECTORS illustration.
  4. Turn on headlights. Connect other test light terminal to pin A23 (circuit No. 132, Orange/Black wire). If test light glows, replace EIC. Repair short in circuit No. 132 if test light does not glow.
  5. Step on brake pedal. Connect other test light terminal to pin A25 (circuit No. 135, Yellow/Red wire). If test light glows, replace EIC. Repair short in circuit No. 135 if test light does not glow.
