Pinpoint Test FF

  1. Turn ignition off to reset warning. Remove connector from trunk switch. Turn ignition on. If no warning appears, service trunk latch switch. If warning still appears, go to step 2).
  2. Turn ignition off. Remove EIC. Check for continuity between pin A33 (circuit No. 486, Brown/White wire) and pin C4 (circuit No. 676, Pink/Orange wire). Replace EIC if no continuity exists. Repair short in circuit No. 486 (Brown/White wire) if continuity exists.
  3. Turn ignition off. Remove connector from trunk latch switch. Connect a jumper between pin A33 (circuit No. 486, Brown/White wire) at harness connector and ground. Turn ignition on. If warning appears, service trunk switch. Go to step 4) if warning does not appear.
  4. Leave jumper connected. Turn ignition off. Remove EIC. See ELECTRONIC INSTRUMENT CLUSTER (EIC) R & I  . Check for continuity between pin A33 (circuit No. 486, Brown/White wire) and pin C4 (circuit No. 676, Pink/Orange wire). Replace message center module if continuity exists. Repair open in circuit No. 486 (Brown/White wire) if no continuity exists.
