Pinpoint Test AM

  1. Check charging system. Make any necessary repairs. If charging system is operating normally, go to step 2).
  2. Check charge system warning. Go to step 6) if no warning appears. If warning appears, go to step 3).
  3. Turn ignition off. Disconnect 4-pin connector, located near voltage regulator. Turn ignition on. Measure voltage at harness connector pin A34 (Light Green/Red wire, circuit No. 904). Disconnect meter. If voltage is present, leave connector unplugged and go to step 4). If voltage is not present, repair circuit No. 904 (Light Green/Red wire).
  4. Turn ignition off, then on. Check for warning. If warning is on, go to step 5). If there is no warning, check windshield module, repair harness or service voltage regulator.
  5. Turn ignition off. Remove EIC. See the procedures for ELECTRONIC INSTRUMENT CLUSTER (EIC) R & I  . Check for continuity between pin A34 (circuit No. 904, Light Green/Red wire) and pin B1 (circuit No. 904, Light Green/Red wire). If continuity exists, go to step 6). Repair open in circuit No. 904 (Light Green/Red wire) if no continuity exists.
  6. Turn ignition on. Measure voltage of circuit No. 797 (Light Green/Purple wire) at fuse No. 16. Measure voltage at EIC connector pin C2-8 (circuit No. 563, Orange/Yellow wire) and at pin C3 (circuit No. 797, Light Green/Purple wire) of EIC. If voltages are the same, replace EIC. Repair circuit No. 797 (Light Green/Purple wire) or hot wire to fuse No. 16 (circuit No. 38, Black/Orange wire) if voltages are not the same.
