Pinpoint Test AD

  1. Turn ignition off. Disconnect instrument cluster harness connectors. Connect a jumper from pin C2 (circuit No. 29, Yellow/White wire) to ground. Turn ignition on. Observe digital fuel gauge. If CO appears, go to step 2). If CS appears, repair harness or check fuel sender for open circuit. Fuel sender resistance should be 14-163 ohms.
    NOTE: It may take several minutes for gauge to respond.
  2. Turn ignition to OFF. Remove the EIC. Refer to the ELECTRONIC INSTRUMENT CLUSTER (EIC) R & I  procedures. Measure resistance between pin C2 and pin C4 on EIC connector. If resistance is greater than 5 ohms, repair open in circuit. Replace EIC if resistance is less than 5 ohms. See IDENTIFYING EIC CONNECTORS illustration.
