Description & Operation: Notes

The electronic instrument system includes 3 assemblies: an Electronic Instrument Cluster (EIC), a remote Cluster Control Assembly (CCA) module and a remote Message Center Control Assembly (MCCA) module. See Fig 1 . The EIC contains the following parts:

Cluster Control Assembly (CCA) which displays speedometer, odometer, fuel and multigauge information.
Message Center Control Assembly (MCCA) which displays vehicle systems and trip information.
Transmission range indicator (PRNDL).
Warning indicators for seat belts, brake system, high beam indicator and left and right turn indicators.

The EIC is fully operational whenever the ignition is on. The CCA and MCCA are illuminated from behind with bulbs. These bulbs are dimmed whenever the headlights are on.
