Valve Springs: Installation

  1. Lubricate valve stem with engine oil and install new valve stem seal. Place spring in position over valve and install spring retainer. Compress valve spring and install locks. Check valve spring for proper installed height.
  2. Remove air pressure and adapter and install spark plugs. Apply Ford Polyethylene Grease (DOAZ-19584-A) to ends of push rods and tip of valve stems. Install rocker arms and tighten.
