Oil Pump: Installation

  1. Prime oil pump by filling either inlet or outlet port with oil. Rotate pump shaft to distribute oil within pump body.
  2. Position intermediate drive shaft into distributor socket. With shaft firmly seated in socket, stop on shaft should touch roof of crankcase. If necessary, remove shaft and reposition stop.
  3. With stop properly positioned, insert intermediate drive shaft into oil pump. Install pump and shaft as an assembly. Tighten oil pump attaching bolts. Reverse removal procedure to complete installation.
