Fuel Gauge "CS" Displayed

  1. Disconnect 14405/14401 connector, under instrument panel, at fuse block. Place ignition switch in "ACC" position. If "CS" is displayed, go to next step. If "CO" is displayed, go to step 3).
  2. Remove and disconnect EIM. Check for short between Pin No. 11 (Yellow/White wire) and ground of 18-pin EIM harness connector. If okay, replace EIM. If wire is shorted, repair short to ground.
  3. Reconnect 14405 connector. Lower fuel tank to access fuel gauge sending unit connector. Disconnect sending unit. Place ignition switch in "ACC" position. If "CS" is displayed, repair short to ground in Yellow/White wire. If "CO" is displayed, check fuel gauge sending unit for short to ground. Replace if necessary.
