Fuel Gauge "CO" Displayed
- Disconnect harness 14405/14401 connector, under instrument panel, at fuse block. Using jumper wire, ground Yellow/White wire on mating harness side of connector. If "CO" is displayed, remove jumper wire and go to next step. If "CS" is displayed, remove jumper wire and go to step 4).
- Disconnect and remove EIM. Check continuity between Pin No. 11 of instrument cluster connector and Pin No. 7 of 14405 connector. If okay, go to next step. If not, repair open in circuit.
- Reconnect 14405 connector and EIM connector. Check fuel gauge sending unit ground wire for good connection. Check continuity between Pin No. 14 of EIM ground and fuel gauge sending unit ground. If okay, replace EIM. If not, repair ground circuit as required.
- Reconnect 14405 connector. Lower fuel tank to access fuel gauge sending unit connector. Short sending unit harness connector with jumper wire. Place ignition switch in "ACC" position. If "CO" is displayed, repair open circuit in sending unit wiring. If "CS" is displayed, go to next step.
- Turn ignition off. Measure fuel gauge sending unit resistance at sender terminals. If reading is between 13-166 ohms, inspect sending unit wiring connector female terminals for damage or loose fit. Service as required. If resistance is incorrect, replace fuel gauge sending unit.
