Fuel Display: Notes
The digital fuel display is located in left section of EIM. Fuel level is displayed on two, 7-segment digits. Also displayed is an International Standards Organization (ISO) fuel pump symbol and the appropriate display unit (gallons or liters).
On Continental, for fuel levels greater than 18 gallons (68 liters) an "I" will be displayed. When fuel level is less than one gallon (3 liters), an "E" will be displayed. On Mark VII, for fuel levels greater than 20 gallons (76 liters) an "F" will be displayed (indicating full).
When cluster is first turned on, a 2 second self-test sequence will be initiated. This allows driver to verify illumination of all display segments. If fuel display is operating correctly all displays will come on, and then go off.
