Odometer Displays "S"

  1. Determine if NVM is original. Check for mileage sticker on door pillar. Remove EIM and check for NVM service decal. If decal is White, NVM is original, proceed to step 2). If decal is White with additional decal, NVM is replacement, system is okay.
  2. Remove NVM from EIM. Turn power "ON" to EIM and check odometer. Odometer should display "ERROR". Check odometer for "S" display. If "S" is illuminated, replace EIM and transfer old NVM to new EIM. If "S" is not illuminated, replace NVM and affix sticker with original mileage to door pillar. Odometer should now be illuminated and odometer should read zero miles.
