Fuel Sender

  1. Remove wiring connector at fuel tank sender. Connect ohmmeter across terminals at sender. Ohmmeter should read between 3-10 ohms at empty, and between 195-211 ohms at full tank.
  2. If the full resistance reading is below 195 or above 211 ohms, sender must be replaced. If the empty reading is below 3 or above 10 ohms, sender must be replaced. If results are okay, it is necessary to service wiring or fuel gauge.
