Removal [11/2021 - ]: Procedure

  1. PRECAUTION 
    NOTE:

    After the ignition switch is turned off, there may be a waiting time before disconnecting the negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal.

    Refer to BEFORE DISCONNECTING BATTERY [11/2021 - ]

    Refer to PRECAUTION [11/2021 - ]

  2. REMOVE SERVICE PLUG GRIP 

    See step  5

  3. REMOVE NO. 2 INVERTER PROTECTOR 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 8

  4. DISCONNECT ENGINE ROOM MAIN WIRE 
    WARNING:

    Be sure to wear insulated gloves.

    NOTE:

    Do not allow any foreign matter or water to enter the inverter with converter assembly.

      1. Move the lock lever as shown in the illustration and disconnect the inverter with converter assembly connector.
        NOTE:
        • Do not touch the waterproof seal or terminals of the connector.
        • Do not damage the terminals, connector housing or inverter with converter assembly during disconnection.
        • Cover the hole where the cable was connected with tape (non-residue type) or equivalent to prevent entry of foreign matter.
        • Insulate the disconnected terminals with insulating tape.
  5. REMOVE CONNECTOR COVER ASSEMBLY 
    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 10
  6. CHECK TERMINAL VOLTAGE 
    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 11
  7. TEMPORARILY INSTALL CONNECTOR COVER ASSEMBLY 
    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 12
  8. DISCONNECT FLOOR UNDER WIRE 
    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 13
  9. REMOVE REAR SEAT ASSEMBLY 
  10. REMOVE REAR DECK FLOOR BOX 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 7

  11. REMOVE REAR FLOOR BOARD REAR RH 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 8

  12. REMOVE JUNCTION BLOCK SERVICE COVER 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 9

  13. REMOVE DECK FLOOR BOX RH 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 11

  14. REMOVE REAR DOOR SCUFF PLATE LH 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 21

  15. REMOVE NO. 3 BATTERY SERVICE COVER BOARD 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 23

  16. REMOVE REAR DOOR SCUFF PLATE RH 
    1. Use the same procedure as for the LH side.
  17. REMOVE NO. 2 BATTERY SERVICE COVER BOARD 
    1. Use the same procedure as for the No. 3 battery service cover board.
  18. REMOVE BATTERY SERVICE COVER BOARD 

    See step  7

  19. REMOVE REAR SEAT CUSHION LEG SUB-ASSEMBLY 

    See step  8

  20. REMOVE REAR FLOOR FINISH PLATE 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 34

  21. DISCONNECT REAR DOOR OPENING TRIM WEATHERSTRIP RH 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 24

  22. REMOVE NO. 1 SIDE TRIM BASE COVER RH 
    1. Use the same procedure as for the LH side.

      Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 35

  23. REMOVE REAR SEAT SIDE GARNISH RH 
    1. Use the same procedure as for the LH side.

      Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 37

  24. REMOVE ROPE HOOK ASSEMBLY 
    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 39
  25. REMOVE LUGGAGE HOLD BELT STRIKER ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 40

  26. REMOVE NO. 1 LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT TRIM HOOK 
    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 41
  27. REMOVE DECK TRIM SIDE PANEL ASSEMBLY RH 
    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 43
  28. REMOVE NO. 1 HV BATTERY COVER PANEL RH 
    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 12
  29. DISCONNECT FLOOR UNDER WIRE 
    WARNING:

    Be sure to wear insulated gloves.

      *a Shield Ground - -
      1. Disconnect the 2 HV battery junction block assembly connectors.
        NOTE:

        Insulate each disconnected high-voltage connector with insulating tape. Wrap the connector from the wire harness side to the end of the connector.

      2. Disconnect the shield ground from the HV battery.

  30. REMOVE FRONT FLOOR COVER RH 
    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 37 [11/2021 - 03/2024] , or refer to PROCEDURE - Step 35 [03/2024 - ]
  31. REMOVE FRONT EXHAUST PIPE ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to REMOVAL [11/2021 - ]

  32. REMOVE EXHAUST MANIFOLD 

    Refer to REMOVAL [11/2021 - 03/2022] , or refer to REMOVAL [03/2022 - ]

  33. REMOVE FRONT NO. 2 FLOOR HEAT INSULATOR

  34. REMOVE FRONT LOWER NO. 1 FLOOR HEAT INSULATOR

  35. REMOVE FUEL TANK SUB-ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to REMOVAL [11/2021 - ]

  36. REMOVE NO. 1 FLOOR UNDER COVER 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 1 [11/2021 - 03/2023] , or refer to PROCEDURE - Step 1 [03/2023 - ]

  37. REMOVE FLOOR UNDER WIRE 
    WARNING:

    Be sure to wear insulated gloves.

    NOTE:

    Insulate the disconnected connectors with insulating tape.

      *a Waterproof Seal - -
      1. Remove the 2 bolts and HV floor under wire from the rear traction motor with transaxle assembly.
        NOTE:
        • Do not damage the terminals, interlock connector or rear traction motor with transaxle assembly during disconnection.
        • Do not touch the waterproof seal or terminals of the connector.
        • Do not allow any foreign matter or water to enter the rear traction motor with transaxle assembly.
        • Although the connector may feel loose, this is not due to a malfunction.
      2. Disengage the clamp.
      3. Remove the 2 bolts.
      4. Disengage the clamp.

      1. Remove the 2 nuts.
      2. Disengage the grommet and pull out the HV floor under wire from the floor panel hole.

      1. Remove the 3 nuts, 4 bolts and 4 clamps.
        NOTE:

        If the clamp is removed forcibly, the stud bolt may be damaged.
