Brake Hold Operated Indicator Light Circuit [11/2021 - ]: Procedure

  1. PRE-CHECK 
    1. Check that the brake hold standby indicator light operates normally.

      Refer to Brake Hold Standby Indicator Light Circuit [11/2021 - 03/2024] , or refer to Brake Hold Standby Indicator Light Circuit [03/2024 - ] 

    2. If the brake hold operated indicator light does not illuminate even though the brake hold standby indicator light is illuminated, check that the following brake hold operation (brake fluid pressure is being maintained) conditions are met.
      1. System is in operation standby state (brake hold standby indicator light is illuminated).
      2. Shift position is not P or R.
      3. Driver is depressing brake pedal and vehicle is fully stopped.
      4. Driver is not depressing accelerator pedal.
      5. Vehicle is not on steep decline.
      6. The parking brake is not engaged.

      HINT: 

      If a malfunction occurs in one of the following systems, the brake hold operated indicator light will blink. If this occurs, perform troubleshooting on the malfunctioning system.

      • Brake system
      • Electric parking brake system

  2. CHECK VEHICLE CONTROL HISTORY (RoB) (ELECTRONICALLY CONTROLLED BRAKE SYSTEM AND ELECTRIC PARKING BRAKE SYSTEM) 
    1. Using the GTS, check for Vehicle Control History (RoB).

      Refer to VEHICLE CONTROL HISTORY (RoB) [11/2021 - ]

      Chassis > Brake/EPB > Utility 

      Tester Display
      Vehicle Control History (RoB)

      HINT: 

      If vehicle control history (RoB) is stored when the electronically controlled brake system and electric parking brake system are suspended and the brake hold switch (electric parking brake switch assembly) is operated with the following vehicle conditions met, the brake hold operated indicator light blinks.

      1. The driver door is closed.
      2. The driver seat belt is fastened.

    PERFORM TROUBLESHOOTING AND REPAIR REGARDING VEHICLE CONTROL HISTORY (RoB)

    NOTE:

    After performing troubleshooting and repair regarding vehicle control history (RoB), clear the vehicle control history (RoB).

  3. INSPECT COMBINATION METER ASSEMBLY 
    1. Perform the Active Test of the combination meter assembly using the GTS.

      Refer to DATA LIST / ACTIVE TEST [11/2021 - ]

    2. Check the combination meter assembly.

      Body Electrical > Combination Meter > Active Test 

      Tester Display
      Hold Indicator

      OK

      The brake hold operated indicator light turns on or off in accordance with the GTS operation.

      Result

      NG

    Result: 

    OK 

    REPLACE BRAKE ACTUATOR ASSEMBLY. Refer to  REMOVAL [11/2021 - ]

    INSPECT METER / GAUGE SYSTEM. Refer to  HOW TO PROCEED WITH TROUBLESHOOTING [11/2021 - ]
