DTC C0500-14: Left Front Wheel Speed Sensor Circuit Short to Ground or Open [11/2021 - ]: Procedure

  1. CHECK VEHICLE 
    1. Check if the vehicle is equipped with AVS.

  2. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (SENSOR GROUND CIRCUIT) 

    Procedure1

    1. Make sure that there is no looseness at the locking part and the connecting part of the connectors.

      OK

      The connector is securely connected.

      Pre-procedure1

    2. Disconnect the A107 front speed sensor LH connector.

      Procedure2

    3. Check both the connector case and the terminals for deformation and corrosion.

      OK

      No deformation or corrosion.

      Pre-procedure2

    4. Turn the ignition switch to ON.

      Procedure3

    5. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Voltage

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      A107-5 (FL+) - A107-6 (FL-) Ignition switch ON 11 to 14 V

      Result

  3. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (FRONT SPEED SENSOR LH - BRAKE ACTUATOR ASSEMBLY) 

    Procedure1

    1. Make sure that there is no looseness at the locking part and the connecting part of the connectors.

      OK

      The connector is securely connected.

      Pre-procedure1

    2. Disconnect the A36 skid control ECU (brake actuator assembly) connector.
    3. Disconnect the A107 front speed sensor LH connector.

      Procedure2

    4. Check both the connector case and the terminals for deformation and corrosion.

      OK

      No deformation or corrosion.

      Procedure3

    5. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      A107-6 (FL-) or A36-7 (FL-) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

      Post-procedure1

    6. None

    REPLACE FRONT SPEED SENSOR LH. Refer to  REMOVAL [11/2021 - 03/2024]  , or refer to  REMOVAL [03/2024 - ]

    REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

  4. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (FRONT SPEED SENSOR LH - BRAKE ACTUATOR ASSEMBLY) 

    Procedure1

    1. Make sure that there is no looseness at the locking part and the connecting part of the connectors.

      OK

      The connector is securely connected.

      Pre-procedure1

    2. Disconnect the A36 skid control ECU (brake actuator assembly) connector.
    3. Disconnect the A107 front speed sensor LH connector.

      Procedure2

    4. Check both the connector case and the terminals for deformation and corrosion.

      OK

      No deformation or corrosion.

      Procedure3

    5. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      A107-6 (FL-) - A36-7 (FL-) Always Below 1 Ω

      Result

      Proceed to

      NG

    6. None

    Result: 

    OK 

    REPLACE BRAKE ACTUATOR ASSEMBLY. Refer to  REMOVAL [11/2021 - ]

    REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

  5. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (SENSOR GROUND CIRCUIT) 
    1. Make sure that there is no looseness at the locking part and the connecting part of the connectors.

      OK

      The connector is securely connected.

    2. Disconnect the e4 front speed sensor LH connector.
    3. Check both the connector case and the terminals for deformation and corrosion.

      OK

      No deformation or corrosion.

    4. Turn the ignition switch to ON.
    5. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Voltage

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      e4-3 (FL+) - e4-1 (FL-) Ignition switch ON 11 to 14 V

  6. INSPECT SKID CONTROL SENSOR WITH SUSPENSION CONTROL WIRE LH 
    1. Make sure that there is no looseness at the locking part and the connecting part of the connectors.

      OK

    2. Disconnect the e4 skid control sensor with suspension control wire LH connector.
    3. Disconnect the Ae2 skid control sensor with suspension control wire LH connector.
    4. Check both the connector case and the terminals for deformation and corrosion.

      OK

      No deformation or corrosion.

    5. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      e4-1 (FL-) or Ae2-6 (FL-) - Body ground and other terminals Always 10 kΩ or higher

    REPLACE SKID CONTROL SENSOR WITH SUSPENSION CONTROL WIRE LH

  7. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (SKID CONTROL SENSOR WITH SUSPENSION CONTROL WIRE LH - BRAKE ACTUATOR ASSEMBLY) 
    1. Make sure that there is no looseness at the locking part and the connecting part of the connectors.

      OK

      The connector is securely connected.

    2. Disconnect the A36 skid control ECU (brake actuator assembly) connector.
    3. Disconnect the Ae2 skid control sensor with suspension control wire LH connector.
    4. Check both the connector case and the terminals for deformation and corrosion.

      OK

      No deformation or corrosion.

    5. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      Ae2-6 (FL-) or A36-7 (FL-) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

      Result

      Proceed to

    Result:

    REPLACE FRONT SPEED SENSOR LH. Refer to  REMOVAL [11/2021 - 03/2024]  , or refer to  REMOVAL [03/2024 - ]

    REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

  8. INSPECT SKID CONTROL SENSOR WITH SUSPENSION CONTROL WIRE LH 
    1. Make sure that there is no looseness at the locking part and the connecting part of the connectors.

      OK

    2. Disconnect the e4 skid control sensor with suspension control wire LH connector.
    3. Disconnect the Ae2 skid control sensor with suspension control wire LH connector.
    4. Check both the connector case and the terminals for deformation and corrosion.

      OK

      No deformation or corrosion.

    5. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      e4-1 (FL-) - Ae2-6 (FL-) Always Below 1 Ω

      Result

      Proceed to

      NG

    Result: 

    NG 

    REPLACE SKID CONTROL SENSOR WITH SUSPENSION CONTROL WIRE LH

  9. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (SKID CONTROL SENSOR WITH SUSPENSION CONTROL WIRE LH - BRAKE ACTUATOR ASSEMBLY) 
    1. Make sure that there is no looseness at the locking part and the connecting part of the connectors.

      OK

      The connector is securely connected.

    2. Disconnect the A36 skid control ECU (brake actuator assembly) connector.
    3. Disconnect the Ae2 skid control sensor with suspension control wire LH connector.
    4. Check both the connector case and the terminals for deformation and corrosion.

      OK

      No deformation or corrosion.

    5. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      Ae2-6 (FL-) - A36-7 (FL-) Always Below 1 Ω

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result: 

    OK 

    REPLACE BRAKE ACTUATOR ASSEMBLY. Refer to  REMOVAL [11/2021 - ]
