DTC P2797-96: Electromagnetic Oil Pump Component Internal Failure [03/2023 - ]: Procedure

  1. CHECK VEHICLE CONTROL HISTORY 
    1. Enter the following menus: Powertrain / Stop and Start / Utility / Vehicle Control History (RoB).

      Powertrain > Stop and Start > Utility 

      Tester Display
      Vehicle Control History (RoB)
    2. Check vehicle control history.

      Result

      Result Proceed to
      Vehicle control history item BBC Boosting Output Overcurrent stored A
      Vehicle control history item not stored B

    Result: 

    REPLACE ENGINE STOP AND START ECU. Refer to  REMOVAL [11/2021 - ] 

    Result: 

    See step  2

  2. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (ENGINE STOP AND START ECU - TRANSMISSION WIRE) 
    1. Disconnect the engine stop and start ECU connector.
    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      D40-9 (EMOP) - D40-8 (EGND) 20°C (68°F) 5.0 to 5.6 Ω

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result: 

    OK 

    REPLACE ENGINE STOP AND START ECU. Refer to  REMOVAL [11/2021 - ] 

    Result: 

    NG

  3. CHECK ENGINE STOP AND START ECU 
    1. Disconnect the engine stop and start ECU connector.
    2. Disconnect the transmission wire connector.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      D40-9 (EMOP) - D40-8 (EGND) Always 10 kΩ or higher

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result: 

    NG

    OK

  4. INSPECT OIL PUMP WITH SOLENOID ASSEMBLY 
    1. Inspect the oil pump with solenoid assembly.

      for A25A-FKS: Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 5

      for T24A-FTS: Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 5

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result: 

    OK 

    REPLACE TRANSMISSION WIRE 

    for A25A-FKS: Refer to REMOVAL [11/2021 - ]

    for T24A-FTS: Refer to REMOVAL [11/2021 - ]

    Result: 

    NG 

    REPLACE OIL PUMP WITH SOLENOID ASSEMBLY 

    for A25A-FKS: Refer to DISASSEMBLY [11/2021 - ]

    for T24A-FTS: Refer to DISASSEMBLY [11/2021 - ]

  5. INSPECT ENGINE STOP AND START SOLENOID FILTER 
    1. Remove the engine stop and start solenoid filter.

      *a Component without harness connected
      (Engine Stop and Start Solenoid Filter)

      Refer to REMOVAL [11/2021 - ]

    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      2 (MOP+) - 1 (MOP-) Always 10 kΩ or higher
      7 (MOPI) - 8 (GND) Always 10 kΩ or higher

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result: 

    OK 

    REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR (ENGINE STOP AND START ECU - TRANSMISSION WIRE) 

    Result: 

    NG 

    REPLACE ENGINE STOP AND START SOLENOID FILTER. Refer to  REMOVAL [11/2021 - ]
