DTC P0012-00: Camshaft Position "A" - Timing Over-Retarded Bank 1 [11/2021 - 03/2022]: Procedure

1. Read the DTCs.

   Powertrain > Engine > Trouble Codes 

   Result

   Result	Proceed to
   DTC P0012-00 is output	A
   DTC P0012-00 and other DTCs are output	B

   HINT: 

   If any DTCs other than P0012-00 are output, troubleshoot those DTCs first.

1. Remove the cam timing control motor with EDU assembly.

   Refer to REMOVAL [11/2021 - ]

2. Check if the eccentric shaft of the camshaft timing gear assembly rotates smoothly.
   NOTE:

   If the camshaft is at a position where a valve is about to open, the eccentric shaft may become difficult to rotate.

   OK

   Rotates smoothly.

   HINT: 

   Perform "Inspection After Repair" after replacing the camshaft timing gear assembly, or removing the cam timing control motor with EDU assembly.

   Refer to INITIALIZATION [11/2021 - ]

   Result

   Proceed to
   OK
   NG

Result: 

NG 

REPLACE CAMSHAFT TIMING GEAR ASSEMBLY. Refer to  PROCEDURE - Step 41
