DTC P2182-15: Engine Coolant Temperature Sensor 2 Circuit Short to Battery or Open [11/2021 - ]: Procedure

- READ VALUE USING GTS (CHECK FOR OPEN IN WIRE HARNESS)
- Disconnect the engine coolant temperature sensor (for cylinder head side) connector.
*1 Engine Coolant Temperature Sensor (for Cylinder Head Side) *2 ECM *a Front view of wire harness connector
(to Engine Coolant Temperature Sensor (for Cylinder Head Side))- - - Connect terminals 1 (E2) and 2 (THW2) of the engine coolant temperature sensor (for cylinder head side) connector on the wire harness side.
- According to the display on the GTS, read the Data List.
Powertrain > Engine > Data List
Tester Display Coolant Temperature Sensor2 OK
GTS Display Specified Condition Coolant Temperature Sensor2 140°C (284°F) or higher HINT:
Perform "Inspection After Repair" after replacing the engine coolant temperature sensor (for cylinder head side).
Refer to INITIALIZATION [11/2021 - ]

REPLACE ENGINE COOLANT TEMPERATURE SENSOR (FOR CYLINDER HEAD SIDE). Refer to REMOVAL [11/2021 - ]

- Disconnect the engine coolant temperature sensor (for cylinder head side) connector.
- CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (ENGINE COOLANT TEMPERATURE SENSOR (FOR CYLINDER HEAD SIDE) - ECM)
- Disconnect the engine coolant temperature sensor (for cylinder head side) connector.
- Disconnect the ECM connector.
- Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
