Removal [03/2024 - ]: Procedure

  1. PRECAUTION 
    NOTE:
  2. DISABLE BRAKE CONTROL (for HEV Model) 
    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 4
  3. REMOVE REAR WHEEL 

    Refer to REMOVAL [03/2024 - ]

  4. SEPARATE NO. 2 PARKING BRAKE WIRE ASSEMBLY (w/o AVS)

      1. Disconnect the No. 2 parking brake wire assembly connector from the parking brake actuator assembly.
        NOTE:
        • Remove any dirt or foreign matter on and around the No. 2 parking brake wire assembly connector before performing this step.
        • Do not allow water, oil or dirt to enter the No. 2 parking brake wire assembly connector.
      2. Using a screwdriver with its tip wrapped with protective tape, disconnect the skid control sensor wire connector from the rear axle hub and bearing assembly.
        NOTE:

        Be careful not to damage the rear axle hub and bearing assembly or connector cover.

      3. Remove the nut, disengage the 2 clamps and separate the No. 2 parking brake wire assembly from the rear flexible hose bracket and rear trailing arm assembly.
  5. SEPARATE NO. 2 PARKING BRAKE WIRE ASSEMBLY (w/ AVS)

      1. Disconnect the No. 2 parking brake wire assembly connector from the parking brake actuator assembly.
        NOTE:
        • Remove any dirt or foreign matter on and around the No. 2 parking brake wire assembly connector before performing this step.
        • Do not allow water, oil or dirt to enter the No. 2 parking brake wire assembly connector.
      2. Using a screwdriver with its tip wrapped with protective tape, disconnect the skid control sensor wire connector from the rear axle hub and bearing assembly.
        NOTE:

        Be careful not to damage the rear axle hub and bearing assembly or connector cover.

      3. Disconnect the connector.
      4. Remove the nut and disengage the clamp.
      5. Remove the nut, disengage the clamp and separate the No. 2 parking brake wire assembly from the rear flexible hose bracket and rear trailing arm assembly.
  6. SEPARATE REAR FLEXIBLE HOSE

  7. SEPARATE REAR DISC BRAKE CALIPER ASSEMBLY 

    See step  5

  8. REMOVE REAR DISC 
    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 18
  9. REMOVE REAR AXLE HUB AND BEARING ASSEMBLY 

    See step  7

  10. REMOVE NO. 4 FLEXIBLE HOSE BRACKET

  11. REMOVE NO. 1 LOWER CONTROL ARM COVER 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 2

  12. REMOVE REAR HEIGHT CONTROL SENSOR SUB-ASSEMBLY LH (for LH Side with Height Control Sensor) 

    Refer to REMOVAL [11/2021 - ]

  13. SEPARATE REAR STABILIZER LINK ASSEMBLY 
    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 4
  14. REMOVE REAR COIL SPRING 
    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 5
  15. REMOVE REAR LOWER COIL SPRING INSULATOR 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 7

  16. REMOVE REAR NO. 1 SUSPENSION ARM ASSEMBLY

      1. Remove the bolt, nut and rear No. 1 suspension arm assembly from the rear axle carrier sub-assembly.
        NOTE:

        Because the nut has its own stopper, do not turn the nut. Loosen the bolt with the nut secured.

  17. REMOVE REAR AXLE CARRIER SUB-ASSEMBLY

      *A for Nut Connection Type *B for Bolt Connection Type
      *1 Bolt *2 Nut
      *3 Rear Axle Carrier Pin - -
      *a Wooden Block *b Jack
      Outside of the Vehicle - -
      1. Loosen the 2 bolts.
      2. for Nut Connection Type:

        1. Loosen the bolt and nut.

      3. for Bolt Connection Type:

        1. Loosen the bolt and nut.

        NOTE:

        Because the nut has its own stopper, do not turn the nut. Loosen the bolt with the nut secured.

      4. Loosen the nut of the rear shock absorber assembly.
        NOTE:

        Hold the rear axle carrier pin while rotating the nut.

      5. Using a jack and wooden block, support the rear axle carrier sub-assembly.
        NOTE:
        • When jacking up the rear axle carrier sub-assembly, be sure to jack it up slowly.
        • Make sure to perform this operation with the vehicle kept as low as possible.

      *A for Nut Connection Type *B for Bolt Connection Type
      *1 Rear Axle Carrier Pin *2 Bolt
      *3 Nut - -
      Outside of the Vehicle - -
      1. Loosen the bolt (A).
        NOTE:

        Because the nut has its own stopper, do not turn the nut. Loosen the bolt with the nut secured.

      2. Remove the 2 bolts.
      3. for Nut Connection Type:

        1. Remove the bolt and nut.

      4. for Bolt Connection Type:

        1. Remove the bolt and nut.

        NOTE:

        Because the nut has its own stopper, do not turn the nut. Loosen the bolt with the nut secured.

      5. Remove the nut and plate washer, and separate the rear shock absorber assembly from the rear axle carrier sub-assembly.
        NOTE:

        Hold the rear axle carrier pin while rotating the nut.

      6. Remove the bolt (A), nut and rear axle carrier sub-assembly from the rear upper control arm assembly.
        NOTE:

        Because the nut has its own stopper, do not turn the nut. Loosen the bolt with the nut secured.
