DTC B009E-83: Right Side Restraints Sensor 5 Value of Signal Protection Calculation Incorrect [11/2021 - ]: Procedure

  1. CHECK DTC 

    Pre-procedure1

    1. Turn the ignition switch to ON, and wait for at least 60 seconds.

      Procedure1

    2. Check for DTCs.

      Body Electrical > SRS Airbag > Trouble Codes 

      Result

      Result Proceed to
      B009E-83 is output A
      B009E-83 is not output B

      Post-procedure1

    3. None

    Result: 

    USE SIMULATION METHOD TO CHECK. Refer to  HOW TO PROCEED WITH TROUBLESHOOTING [11/2021 - ] 

    Result:

  2. CHECK CONNECTION OF CONNECTORS 

    Pre-procedure1

    1. Turn the ignition switch off.
    2. Disconnect the cable from the negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal, and wait for at least 60 seconds.

      Procedure1

    3. Check that the connectors are properly connected to the airbag sensor assembly and side airbag pressure sensor RH.

      OK

      The connectors are properly connected.

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

      Post-procedure1

    4. None

    Result: 

    NG 

    CONNECT CONNECTORS PROPERLY 

    Result: 

    OK

  3. CLEAR DTC 

    Pre-procedure1

    1. Interchange the side airbag pressure sensor RH with LH and connect the connectors to them.

      *1 Side Airbag Pressure Sensor LH
      *2 Airbag Sensor Assembly
      *3 Wire Harness
    2. Connect the cable to the negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal, and wait for at least 2 seconds.
    3. Turn the ignition switch to ON, and wait for at least 60 seconds.

      Procedure1

    4. Clear the DTCs stored in memory.

      Body Electrical > SRS Airbag > Clear DTCs 

      Result

      Proceed to
      NEXT

      Post-procedure1

    5. Turn the ignition switch off.

    Result: 

    NEXT

  4. CHECK SIDE AIRBAG PRESSURE SENSOR RH 

    Pre-procedure1

    1. Turn the ignition switch to ON, and wait for at least 60 seconds.

      Procedure1

    2. Check for DTCs.

      Body Electrical > SRS Airbag > Trouble Codes 

      Result

      Result Proceed to
      B009E-83 is output A
      B009B-83 is output B
      B009B-83 and B009E-83 are not output C

      HINT: 

      Codes other than DTCs B009B-83 and B009E-83 may be output at this time, but they are not related to this check.

      Post-procedure1

    3. Turn the ignition switch off.
    4. Disconnect the cable from the negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal, and wait for at least 60 seconds.
    5. Return the side airbag pressure sensor LH and RH to their original positions and connect the connectors to them.

    Result: 

    REPLACE AIRBAG SENSOR ASSEMBLY. Refer to  REMOVAL [11/2021 - 03/2024]  , or refer to  REMOVAL [03/2024 - ] 

    Result: 

    REPLACE SIDE AIRBAG PRESSURE SENSOR RH. Refer to  REMOVAL [11/2021 - ] 

    Result: 

    USE SIMULATION METHOD TO CHECK. Refer to  HOW TO PROCEED WITH TROUBLESHOOTING [11/2021 - ]
