Basic Inspection [11/2021 - ]: Procedure

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2025 Lexus NX 350h, 2024 Lexus NX 350h, 2023 Lexus NX 350h, and 2022 Lexus NX 350h. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
  1. READ VALUE USING GTS (Hybrid Battery SOC)
    1. Read the Data List.

Powertrain > HV Battery > Data List

      Tester Display
      Hybrid Battery SOC

      Result

      Result Proceed to
"Hybrid Battery SOC" is 55 to 65% A
      Other than above B
    2. Turn the ignition switch off.

    Result:

    See step  3

    Result:

    See step  2

  2. ADJUST HV BATTERY SOC

    HINT:

If the following procedure (charging or discharging of the HV battery) cannot be performed due to the condition of the vehicle, proceed to the next step.

    1. Apply the parking brake and chock all 4 wheels.
    2. Depress the accelerator pedal and brake pedal simultaneously or leave the vehicle with neutral (N) selected until the value of Data List item "Hybrid Battery SOC" is between 55% and 65%.

Powertrain > HV Battery > Data List

      Tester Display
      Hybrid Battery SOC

      HINT:

      • Depressing the accelerator pedal and brake pedal simultaneously will cause the HV battery to charge and the value of "Hybrid Battery SOC" to increase.
      • Leaving the vehicle with neutral (N) selected will cause the HV battery to discharge and the value of "Hybrid Battery SOC" to decrease.
    3. Turn the ignition switch off.

      Result

      Proceed to
      NEXT

    Result:

    NEXT

    See step  3

  3. REPLACE HV BATTERY (NO. 1 HV SUPPLY STACK SUB-ASSEMBLY or NO. 2 HV SUPPLY STACK SUB-ASSEMBLY)

    Refer to REMOVAL [11/2021 - ]

    Result

    Proceed to
    NEXT

    Result:

    NEXT

    See step  4

  4. ROAD TEST
    1. Turn the ignition switch to on (READY).
    2. Drive the vehicle on urban roads for approximately 10 minutes.

      HINT:

Perform this procedure in order to ensure the accuracy of the inspection in the next step.

    3. Turn the ignition switch off.

      Result

      Proceed to
      NEXT

    Result:

    NEXT

    See step  5

  5. READ VALUE USING GTS (Delta SOC)
    1. Check and Record the Data List.

Powertrain > HV Battery > Data List

      Tester Display
      Delta SOC

      Result

      Result Proceed to
      "Delta SOC" is 0 to 5% A
      Other than above B
    2. Turn the ignition switch off.

    Result:

    END

    Result:

    See step  6

  6. TIME TO EQUALIZE SOC
    1. According to the value of Data List item "Delta SOC" recorded in the previous step, equalize the SOC.
"Delta SOC" Time to Equalize SOC
(Total time necessary to leave power switch off)
      6 to 10% 29 hours
      11 to 15% 49 hours
      16 to 20% 66 hours
      21 to 25% 85 hours
      26 to 30% 103 hours

      HINT:

      • SOC equalization is performed when the power switch is off.
      • It is not necessary to leave the power switch off continuously for the time shown in the table. The time shown is the cumulative time the power switch must be off after a HV supply stack sub-assembly has been replaced for SOC equalization to complete.

      Result

      Proceed to
      NEXT

    Result:

    NEXT

    END
