DTC B1498-87: A/C Inverter Local Missing Message [11/2021 - ]: Procedure

  1. CHECK FOR DTC (HYBRID CONTROL) 
    1. Check for DTCs.

      Powertrain > Hybrid Control > Trouble Codes 

      Result

      Result Proceed to
      P058A-01 and P162B-87 are not output A
      P058A-01 or P162B-87 is output B

    Result:

  2. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (COMPRESSOR WITH MOTOR ASSEMBLY - AUXILIARY BATTERY AND BODY GROUND) 
    WARNING:

    Do not disconnect the connector on the high-voltage side.

    NOTE:

    As other DTCs will be stored when the ignition switch is turned to ON with the connector disconnected, be sure to clear the DTCs after the inspection.

    1. Disconnect the B64 compressor with motor assembly connector.

      (to Compressor with Motor Assembly)
      NOTE:

      Do not allow any foreign matter or water to enter the compressor with motor assembly.

    2. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Voltage

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      B64-1 (IG1) - Body ground Ignition switch ON 11 to 14 V
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      B64-2 (GND) - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result: 

    NG 

    REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    Result: 

    OK

  3. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (COMPRESSOR WITH MOTOR ASSEMBLY - HYBRID VEHICLE CONTROL ECU) 
    1. Disconnect the B64 compressor with motor assembly connector.
      NOTE:

      Do not allow any foreign matter or water to enter the compressor with motor assembly.

    2. Disconnect the A27 hybrid vehicle control ECU connector.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      B64-3 (DOUT) - A27-28 (LIN3) Always Below 1 Ω

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result: 

    NG 

    REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    Result: 

    OK

  4. INSPECT HV AIR CONDITIONING WIRE 
    WARNING:

    Be sure to wear insulated gloves.

    1. Disconnect the T1 compressor with motor assembly connector.
      NOTE:

      Do not allow any foreign matter or water to enter the compressor with motor assembly.

    2. Remove the HV air conditioning wire from the inverter with converter assembly.

      Refer to REMOVAL [11/2021 - ]

      NOTE:

      Make sure that no foreign matter, water, etc., enters the inverter with converter assembly.

    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      T1-2 (PB) - T2-1 (ACPB) Always Below 1 Ω

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result: 

    NG

  5. INSPECT HV AIR CONDITIONING WIRE 
    WARNING:

    Be sure to wear insulated gloves.

    1. Disconnect the T1 compressor with motor assembly connector.
      NOTE:

      Do not allow any foreign matter or water to enter the compressor with motor assembly.

    2. Remove the HV air conditioning wire from the inverter with converter assembly.

      Refer to REMOVAL [11/2021 - ]

      NOTE:

      Make sure that no foreign matter, water, etc., enters the inverter with converter assembly.

    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      T1-1 (PE) - T2-2 (ACPE) Always Below 1 Ω

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result: 

    OK 

    REPLACE COMPRESSOR WITH MOTOR ASSEMBLY. Refer to  REMOVAL [11/2021 - ] 

    Result: 

    NG 

    REPLACE HV AIR CONDITIONING WIRE. Refer to  REMOVAL [11/2021 - ] 

  6. INSPECT HV AIR CONDITIONING WIRE 
    WARNING:

    Be sure to wear insulated gloves.

    1. Disconnect the T1 compressor with motor assembly connector.
      NOTE:

      Do not allow any foreign matter or water to enter the compressor with motor assembly.

    2. Remove the HV air conditioning wire from the inverter with converter assembly.

      Refer to REMOVAL [11/2021 - ]

      NOTE:

      Make sure that no foreign matter, water, etc., enters the inverter with converter assembly.

    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      T1-2 (PB) - Other terminals and body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result: 

    OK 

    REPLACE COMPRESSOR WITH MOTOR ASSEMBLY AND HV AIR CONDITIONING WIRE 

    Compressor with motor assembly: 

    HV air conditioning wire: 

    Result: 

    NG 

    REPLACE HV AIR CONDITIONING WIRE. Refer to  REMOVAL [11/2021 - ] 

  7. CHECK FOR DTC 
    1. Disconnect the G29 battery state sensor assembly connector.
    2. Check for DTCs.

      Body Electrical > Air Conditioner > Trouble Codes 

      Result

      Result Proceed to
      B1498-87 is not output A
      B1498-87 is output B

    Result: 

    REPLACE BATTERY STATE SENSOR ASSEMBLY. Refer to  REMOVAL [11/2021 - ] 

    Result:

  8. CHECK FOR DTC (HYBRID CONTROL) 
    1. Connect the G29 battery state sensor assembly connector.
    2. Disconnect the B64 compressor with motor assembly connector.
      NOTE:

      Do not allow any foreign matter or water to enter the compressor with motor assembly.

    3. Check for DTCs.

      Powertrain > Hybrid Control > Trouble Codes 

      Result

      Result Proceed to
      P058A-01 and P162B-87 are not output A
      P058A-01 or P162B-87 is output B

    Result: 

    REPLACE COMPRESSOR WITH MOTOR ASSEMBLY. Refer to  REMOVAL [11/2021 - ]

  9. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (COMPRESSOR WITH MOTOR ASSEMBLY - HYBRID VEHICLE CONTROL ECU) 
    1. Disconnect the A27 hybrid vehicle control ECU connector.
    2. Disconnect the B64 compressor with motor assembly connector.
      NOTE:

      Do not allow any foreign matter or water to enter the compressor with motor assembly.

    3. Disconnect the G29 battery state sensor assembly connector.
    4. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      A27-28 (LIN3) - B64-3 (DOUT) Always Below 1 Ω
      A27-28 (LIN3) - G29-2 (LIN) Always Below 1 Ω
      A27-28 (LIN3) - Other terminals and body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      B64-3 (DOUT) - Other terminals and body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      G29-2 (LIN) - Other terminals and body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result: 

    OK 

    REPLACE HYBRID VEHICLE CONTROL ECU. Refer to  REMOVAL [11/2021 - ] 

    Result: 

    NG 

    REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
