Steering Pad Switch with Touch Detection Malfunction [11/2021 - ]: Procedure

  1. CHECK CAN COMMUNICATION SYSTEM 
    1. Check if CAN communication system DTCs are output.

      for HEV Model: Refer to DIAGNOSIS SYSTEM [11/2021 - 03/2023] , or refer to DIAGNOSIS SYSTEM [03/2023 - 03/2024] , or refer to DIAGNOSIS SYSTEM [03/2024 - ]

      for Gasoline Model: Refer to DIAGNOSIS SYSTEM [11/2021 - 03/2023] , or refer to DIAGNOSIS SYSTEM [03/2023 - 03/2024] , or refer to DIAGNOSIS SYSTEM [03/2024 - ]

      Result

      Result Proceed to
      DTCs are not output A
      DTCs are output B

    Result: 

    GO TO CAN COMMUNICATION SYSTEM 

    for HEV Model: Refer to HOW TO PROCEED WITH TROUBLESHOOTING [11/2021 - ]

    for Gasoline Model: Refer to HOW TO PROCEED WITH TROUBLESHOOTING [11/2021 - ]

  2. CHECK FOR DTC 
    1. Check for DTCs.

      Body Electrical > Combination Meter > Trouble Codes 

      Result

      Result  Proceed to
      DTCs are not output A
      DTCs are output B

    Result: 

    GO TO DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE CHART. Refer to  DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE CHART [11/2021 - 03/2022]  , or refer to  DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE CHART [03/2022 - ]

  3. CHECK SYMPTOMS 
    1. Check the problem symptoms.

      Result

      Some switches are malfunctioning A
      All switches malfunction B

  4. CHECK STEERING PAD SWITCH (OPERATION GUIDE DISPLAY) 
    1. Operate the steering pad switch and confirm that the operation guide is displayed correctly.

      Refer to OPERATION CHECK [11/2021 - ]

      HINT: 

      If the operation guide is displayed correctly but a switch does not operate correctly, it is suspected that the ECU controlling the respective switch is malfunctioning.

      (The operation guide is displayed for a certain amount of time and changes the display in accordance with the operated switch)

      The operation guide is not displayed or the display does not change when a switch is operated B

  5. CHECK STEERING PAD SWITCH (SWITCH OPERATION) 
    1. Check the steering pad switch to identify malfunctioning switches.

      Refer to OPERATION CHECK [11/2021 - ]

  6. CHECK AUDIO AND VISUAL SYSTEM 
    1. Check the audio and visual system.

      for 14 Inch Display Type: Refer to HOW TO PROCEED WITH TROUBLESHOOTING [11/2021 - ]

      for 9.8 Inch Display Type: Refer to HOW TO PROCEED WITH TROUBLESHOOTING [11/2021 - ]

  7. CHECK AIR CONDITIONING SYSTEM 
    1. Check the air conditioning system.

      for HEV Model: Refer to HOW TO PROCEED WITH TROUBLESHOOTING [11/2021 - ]

      for Gasoline Model: Refer to HOW TO PROCEED WITH TROUBLESHOOTING [11/2021 - ]

      Air conditioning system malfunction B

    Result: 

    REPLACE COMBINATION METER ASSEMBLY. Refer to  REMOVAL [11/2021 - ]

  8. CHECK STOP AND START SYSTEM 
    1. Check the stop and start system.

      Refer to HOW TO PROCEED WITH TROUBLESHOOTING [11/2021 - ]

    REPLACE COMBINATION METER ASSEMBLY. Refer to  REMOVAL [11/2021 - ]

  9. CHECK PANORAMIC VIEW MONITOR SYSTEM 
    1. Check the panoramic view monitor system.

      Refer to HOW TO PROCEED WITH TROUBLESHOOTING [11/2021 - ]

      Panoramic view monitor system malfunction B

  10. CHECK ADVANCED DRIVER ASSISTANCE SYSTEM (FRONT CAMERA SYSTEM) 
    1. Check the advanced driver assistance system (front camera system).

      Refer to HOW TO PROCEED WITH TROUBLESHOOTING [11/2021 - ]

      Result

      Advanced driver assistance system (front camera system) normal A
      Advanced driver assistance system (front camera system) malfunction B

    Result: 

    REPLACE COMBINATION METER ASSEMBLY. Refer to  REMOVAL [11/2021 - ]

    GO TO ADVANCED DRIVER ASSISTANCE SYSTEM (FRONT CAMERA SYSTEM). Refer to  HOW TO PROCEED WITH TROUBLESHOOTING [11/2021 - ] 

  11. CHECK OPERATION GUIDE DISPLAY 
    1. Operate the steering pad switch and confirm that the operation guide is displayed correctly.

      Refer to OPERATION CHECK [11/2021 - ]

      HINT: 

      When the operation guide is displayed correctly but all of the switches do not operate correctly, a communication malfunction of the combination meter assembly is suspected.

      Result

      (The operation guide is displayed for a certain amount of time and changes the display in accordance with the operated switch)

      The operation guide is not displayed or the display does not change when a switch is operated B
