1. Use the same procedure for the LH side.

   1. Using a screwdriver with its tip wrapped with protective tape, disengage the 2 claws and remove the hood support tension spring.
   2. Use the same procedure for the opposite side.

   1. Tie a string to the hood lock control lever sub-assembly side end of the hood lock control cable and lever set.

      HINT: 

      Use a length of string long enough to pass through the engine compartment.

   2. Pull the hood lock control cable and lever set through the grommet.

      HINT: 

      Leave the string inside the grommet.

   3. Disconnect the string from the hood lock control cable and lever set.

   1. Remove the hood lock control cable and lever set.

      1. Disengage each clamp as shown in the illustration.

      2. Pull the hood lock control cable and lever set from the engine compartment to remove it.
