DTC B2275-11: Starter Circuit Short to Ground; DTC B2275-12: Starter Circuit Short to Battery [09/2023 - ]: Procedure

  1. CHECK FOR DTC 

    Pre-procedure1

    • Turn the ignition switch to ON and wait 25 seconds.
    • Using the GTS, check for certification ECU (smart key ECU assembly) DTCs.

      Body Electrical > Power Source Control > Trouble Codes 

      OK

      DTC B2285-62 is not output simultaneously.

      Result

      Result Proceed to
      B2285-62 is not output A
      B2285-62 is output B

    Post-procedure1

    • None

    Result: 

    GO TO DTC B2285-62. Refer to  DTC B2285-62: Steering Lock Position Signal Compare Failure [09/2023 - ]

  2. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (CERTIFICATION ECU (SMART KEY ECU ASSEMBLY) - HYBRID VEHICLE CONTROL ECU ASSEMBLY) 

    Pre-procedure1

    • Disconnect the B7 certification ECU (smart key ECU assembly) connector.
    • Disconnect the D44 hybrid vehicle control ECU assembly connector.
    • Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition Result
      B7-2 (ST2) - D44-11 (ST2) Always Below 1 Ω Ω
      B7-2 (ST2) or D44-11 (ST2) - Other terminals and body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Post-procedure1

    • Connect the B7 certification ECU (smart key ECU assembly) connector.
    • Connect the D44 hybrid vehicle control ECU assembly connector.

    Result: 

    NG 

    REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    Result: 

    OK

  3. CHECK CERTIFICATION ECU (SMART KEY ECU ASSEMBLY) 
    1. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

      *a Component with harness connected
      (Certification ECU (Smart Key ECU Assembly))

      Standard Voltage

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition Result
      B7-2 (ST2) - Body ground With the brake pedal depressed, the power switch is pressed and held 8.5 V or higher V
      B7-2 (ST2) - Body ground After approx. 3 sec. has elapsed, the power switch is released 1 V or less V

    Result: 

    OK 

    REPLACE HYBRID VEHICLE CONTROL ECU ASSEMBLY. Refer to  REMOVAL [09/2023 - 12/2023]  , or refer to  REMOVAL [12/2023 - ]

    REPLACE CERTIFICATION ECU (SMART KEY ECU ASSEMBLY). Refer to  REMOVAL [09/2023 - 12/2023]  , or refer to  REMOVAL [12/2023 - ]
