DTC B2271-11: IG Circuit Short to Ground [09/2023 - ]: Procedure

  1. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (POWER SOURCE) 

    Pre-procedure1

    • Disconnect the D38 certification ECU (smart key ECU assembly) connector.
    • Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Voltage

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition Result
      D38-6 (+B) - Body ground Ignition switch off 11 to 14 V V

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Post-procedure1

    • None

    Result: 

    NG 

    REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR IN CIRCUIT CONNECTED TO POWER SOURCE

  2. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (GROUND) 
    1. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      D38-29 (E) - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω Ω

    REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR

  3. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (POWER DISTRIBUTION BOX ASSEMBLY - CERTIFICATION ECU (SMART KEY ECU ASSEMBLY) AND BODY GROUND) 

    Pre-procedure1

    • Disconnect the B7 certification ECU (smart key ECU assembly) connector.
    • Disconnect the D62 and D63 power distribution box assembly connectors.
    • Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition Result
      D63-17 - B7-24 (IGPD) Always Below 1 Ω Ω
      D62-10 - B7-11 (IGRD) Always Below 1 Ω Ω
      D63-17 or B7-24 (IGPD) - Other terminals and body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      D62-10 or B7-11 (IGRD) - Other terminals and body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

  4. CHECK POWER DISTRIBUTION BOX ASSEMBLY 

    Pre-procedure1

    • Disconnect the B58 power distribution box assembly connector.
    • Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      D63-17 - B58-14 Always Below 1 Ω Ω
      D63-17 or B58-14 - Other terminals Always 10 kΩ or higher

  5. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (POWER DISTRIBUTION BOX ASSEMBLY - IGP RELAY) 

    Pre-procedure1

    • Remove the IGP NO. 1 relay from the No. 1 engine room relay block and No. 1 junction block assembly.
    • Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition Result
      B58-14 - IGP NO. 1 relay terminal 1 Always Below 1 Ω Ω
      B58-14 or - Other terminals and body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

  6. INSPECT IGP NO. 1 RELAY 
    1. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
