Monitor Description
This DTC indicates that there is a problem with output from the EOP coil temperature sensor and that the sensor itself is defective. The EOP coil temperature sensor converts the EOP coil temperature into an electrical resistance value. Based on the resistance, the TCM determines the EOP coil temperature and detects an opens or shorts in the EOP coil temperature circuit or a malfunction of the EOP coil temperature sensor.
After driving the vehicle for a certain period of time, the EOP coil temperature should increase. If the EOP coil temperature is below 20°C (68°F) after driving the vehicle for a certain period, the TCM interprets this as a malfunction, illuminates the MIL and stores this DTC.
When the EOP coil temperature is high (100°C (212°F) or higher) compared with the transaxle fluid temperature after the ignition switch is turned to ON, the TCM also determines this as a malfunction, illuminates the MIL and stores this DTC.
