DTC P0ABF-00: Hybrid/EV Battery Current Sensor "A" Circuit Range/Performance [09/2023 - ]: Procedure

  1. CHECK DTC OUTPUT (HYBRID CONTROL) 

    Pre-procedure1

    • None.
    • Check for DTCs.

      Powertrain > Hybrid Control > Trouble Codes 

      Result

      Result Proceed to
      One of the following applies:
      • Only P0ABF-00 is output.
      • One or more DTCs other than P0AFC-00 and P0AFC-96 are also output.
      		 A
      P0AFC-00 or P0AFC-96 is also output. B

    Post-procedure1

    • Turn the ignition switch off.

    Result: 

    B 

    GO TO DTC CHART (HYBRID CONTROL SYSTEM). Refer to  DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE CHART [09/2023 - ]

  2. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (BATTERY VOLTAGE SENSOR - NO. 1 TRACTION BATTERY DEVICE BOX)

    REPLACE HV BATTERY (WIRE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR). Refer to  REMOVAL [09/2023 - ]

  3. REPLACE NO. 1 TRACTION BATTERY DEVICE BOX 

    HINT: 

    Refer to REMOVAL [09/2023 - ]

  4. CLEAR DTC 

    Pre-procedure1

    • None.
    • Read and record the DTCs and Freeze Frame Data.

      Powertrain > Hybrid Control > Trouble Codes 

    • Clear the DTCs and Freeze Frame Data.

      Powertrain > Hybrid Control > Clear DTCs 

      Result

      Proceed to

    Post-procedure1

    • Turn the ignition switch off and wait for 2 minutes or more.

    Result:

  5. PERFORM ROAD TEST 

    Pre-procedure1

    • Check that "Hybrid/EV Battery SOC" shows 60% or less.

      Powertrain > Hybrid Control > Data List 

      Tester Display
      Hybrid/EV Battery SOC

      HINT: 

      If "Hybrid/EV Battery SOC" is 60% or more, reduce it to below 60% by leaving the hybrid system on with shift lever in N.

    • Apply the parking brake and secure the wheels using chocks.
    • Turn the ignition switch to ON (READY).
    • Move the shift lever to D while depressing the brake pedal with your left foot and repeat the following steps for 1 minute or more.

      HINT: 

      Depress and release the accelerator pedal in 5-second intervals (2.5 seconds each) continuously.

      1. While depressing the brake pedal with your left foot, depress the accelerator pedal with your right foot.
      2. Release the accelerator pedal.
