Rear Shut Down Signal Circuit [09/2023 - ]: Procedure
- CHECK HYBRID VEHICLE CONTROL ECU ASSEMBLY
Pre-procedure1
- Turn the ignition switch to ON.
- Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.
*a Component with harness connected
(Hybrid Vehicle Control ECU Assembly)- - Standard Voltage
Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition Result D44-2 (HSD2) - D44-1 (E1) Ignition switch ON Below 4.5 V V Result
Proceed to OK NG
Post-procedure1
- Turn the ignition switch off.
Result:
OK
SHUTDOWN SIGNAL CIRCUIT NORMAL (PERFORM NEXT STEP FOR REFERENCED DTC)
Result:
NG
See step 2
- CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (HYBRID VEHICLE CONTROL ECU ASSEMBLY - EV MOTOR CONTROL INVERTER ASSEMBLY) WARNING:
Be sure to wear insulated gloves.
Pre-procedure1
- Check that the service plug grip is not installed.NOTE:
After removing the service plug grip, do not turn the ignition switch to ON (READY), unless instructed by the service information because this may cause a malfunction.
- Disconnect the hybrid vehicle control ECU assembly connector.
- Disconnect the EV motor control inverter assembly connector.
- Connect the cable to the negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal.
- Turn the ignition switch to ON.
- Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.
Standard Voltage
Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition Result J72-36 (SDNR) or D44-2 (HSD2) - Body ground Ignition switch ON Below 1 V V NOTE:Turning the ignition switch to ON with the hybrid vehicle control ECU assembly and EV motor control inverter assembly connector disconnected causes other DTCs to be stored. Clear the DTCs after performing this inspection.
Pre-procedure2
- Turn the ignition switch off.
- Disconnect the cable from the negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal.
- Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
Standard Resistance
Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition Result J72-36 (SDNR) - J72-10 (+BR1) Ignition switch off 10 kΩ or higher kΩ J72-36 (SDNR) - J72-11 (+BR2) Ignition switch off 10 kΩ or higher kΩ J72-36 (SDNR) - J72-25 (DRN6) Ignition switch off 10 kΩ or higher kΩ D44-2 (HSD2) - D44-8 (+B1) Ignition switch off 10 kΩ or higher kΩ D44-2 (HSD2) - B21-10 (+B2) Ignition switch off 10 kΩ or higher kΩ Result
Proceed to OK NG
Post-procedure1
- Reconnect the EV motor control inverter assembly connector.
- Reconnect the hybrid vehicle control ECU assembly connector.
Result:
NG
REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
Result:
OK
