Motor Resolver Circuit [09/2023 - ]: Procedure
- CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (HYBRID MOTOR CONTROL INVERTER ASSEMBLY - MOTOR RESOLVER) WARNING:
Be sure to wear insulated gloves.
Pre-procedure1
- Check that the service plug grip is not installed.NOTE:
After removing the service plug grip, do not turn the ignition switch to ON (READY), unless instructed by the service information because this may cause a malfunction.
- Disconnect the hybrid motor control inverter assembly connector.
- Connect the cable to the negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal.
- Turn the ignition switch to ON.
- Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.
Standard Voltage
Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition Result A-18 (MRF) - Body ground Ignition switch ON Below 1 V V A-8 (MRFG) - Body ground Ignition switch ON Below 1 V V A-16 (MSN) - Body ground Ignition switch ON Below 1 V V A-6 (MSNG) - Body ground Ignition switch ON Below 1 V V A-12 (MCS) - Body ground Ignition switch ON Below 1 V V A-2 (MCSG) - Body ground Ignition switch ON Below 1 V V NOTE:Turning the ignition switch to ON with the hybrid motor control inverter assembly disconnected causes other DTCs to be stored. Clear the DTCs after performing this inspection.

Proceed to OK NG
Post-procedure1
- Turn the ignition switch off.
- Disconnect the cable from the negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal.
- Reconnect the hybrid motor control inverter assembly connector.

- Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
Standard Resistance
Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition Result A-18 (MRF) - A-8 (MRFG) Ignition switch off Below 29.0 Ω Ω A-16 (MSN) - A-6 (MSNG) Ignition switch off Below 48.0 Ω Ω A-12 (MCS) - A-2 (MCSG) Ignition switch off Below 57.0 Ω Ω HINT:
To correct the variation of the measured resistance due to temperature, use the following formula to calculate the resistance at 20°C (68°F).
R20 = Rt / {1 + 0.00393 X (T - 20)}
The calculation is based on the following:
R20: Resistance at 20°C (68°F) (mΩ)
Rt: Measured resistance (mΩ)
T: Temperature when the resistance is measured (°C (°F).)
