Removal [09/2023 - ]: Procedure

  1. REMOVE SUSPENSION TOWER DAMPER 

    Refer to REMOVAL [09/2023 - 12/2023] , or refer to REMOVAL [12/2023 - ]

  2. REMOVE NO. 2 ENGINE UNDER COVER ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 10

  3. REMOVE FRONT FENDER APRON SEAL LH 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 11

  4. DRAIN HYBRID TRANSAXLE FLUID

      *1 Overflow Plug *2 Gasket
      *3 No. 1 Transmission Oil Filler Tube - -
      1. Using a 10 mm hexagon socket wrench, remove the overflow plug and gasket from the transaxle assembly with motor and inverter.
      2. Using a 6 mm hexagon socket wrench, remove the No. 1 transmission oil filler tube from the transaxle assembly with motor and inverter and drain the hybrid transaxle fluid.
      3. Using a 6 mm hexagon socket wrench, install the No. 1 transmission oil filler tube to the transaxle assembly with motor and inverter.

        Torque: 0.8 N.m (8 kgf/cm, 7 in.lbf) 

      4. Using a 10 mm hexagon socket wrench, temporarily install the gasket and overflow plug to the transaxle assembly with motor and inverter.

        HINT: 

        Gasket replacement and tightening of the overflow plug are performed after the hybrid transaxle fluid level is adjusted.

  5. REMOVE MOTOR COOLING COOLER 

    Refer to REMOVAL [09/2023 - ] 

  6. REMOVE INVERTER WATER PUMP ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to REMOVAL [09/2023 - ]

  7. DISCONNECT ENGINE WIRE

  8. REMOVE HV WATER PUMP BRACKET 

    See step  15

  9. REMOVE NO. 1 TRANSMISSION OIL COOLER BRACKET

      1. Remove the 4 bolts and No. 1 transmission oil cooler bracket from the transaxle assembly with motor and inverter.
      2. Using a T40 "TORX" socket wrench, remove the 2 plugs and 2 O-rings from the No. 1 transmission oil cooler bracket.
      3. Remove the 2 O-rings from the No. 1 transmission oil cooler bracket.
  10. REMOVE AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION CASE COVER

  11. REMOVE TRANSMISSION VALVE BODY ASSEMBLY

      1. Using a screwdriver, disconnect the 14 solenoid valve connectors of each of the solenoid valves as shown in the illustration.
        NOTE:

        Do not damage the solenoid valves or solenoid valve connectors.

      2. Disconnect the temperature sensor connector.
      3. Disengage the 2 clamps.

      Bolt Gasket and Oil Seal Ring
      Gasket - -
      1. Remove the 10 bolts and transmission valve body assembly from the automatic transaxle case sub-assembly.
      2. Remove the 5 gaskets and 2 oil seal rings from the automatic transaxle case sub-assembly.
