Removal [09/2023 - ]: Procedure
- PRECAUTION
Refer to PRECAUTION [09/2023 - ]
- PERFORM RESOLVER LEARNING NOTE:HINT:
- The resolver learned values cannot be initialized by disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal or removing a fuse.
- If resolver learning is not performed after the part related has been replaced, the following DTCs may be stored and the symptoms may occur:
- DTC output
- P1C5D19 (Drive Motor "A" Inverter Circuit Current Above Threshold)
- P0C7917 (Drive Motor "A" Inverter Voltage Sensor(VH) Circuit Voltage Above Threshold)
- P0BFF1D (Drive Motor "A" Circuit Current Out of Range)
- P0C1900 (Drive Motor "A" Execution Torque Performance)
- Slight vibration at a vehicle speed of 5 km/h (3 mph) or less
- Shock or vibration during acceleration
- DTC output
- After replacing the hybrid motor control inverter assembly, write the stored resolver compensation value.
- If the "read compensation value" cannot be performed, the resolver compensation value on the QR code label of the transaxle with motor assembly will need to be checked.
- Store resolver compensation value (if the "read compensation value" can be performed)
- Turn the ignition switch off and wait for 2 minutes or more.
- Check that the air conditioning system and power outlet socket are turned off.
- Enter the following menus.
Powertrain > Motor Generator > Utility
Tester Display Front Resolver Correction Value Registration - Select "Save Correction Value" and read the resolver compensation value.
- Turn the ignition switch off.
- Check resolver compensation value on QR code label (if the "read compensation value" cannot be performed)
- Remove the inverter water pump assembly.

- Remove the HV water pump bracket.

- Check the resolver compensation value on the QR code label of the transaxle with motor assembly.

- Remove the inverter water pump assembly.
- REMOVE EV CONVERTER ASSEMBLY

- SUPPORT ENGINE WITH TRANSAXLE ASSEMBLY WITH MOTOR AND INVERTER
- REMOVE ENGINE MOUNTING STAY LH
- REMOVE ENGINE MOUNTING INSULATOR SUB-ASSEMBLY LH
- REMOVE UPPER INVERTER COVER
- DISCONNECT NO. 1 INVERTER BUSBAR PLATE WARNING:
Be sure to wear insulated gloves.
- Using an insulated tool and T30 "TORX" socket wrench, remove the 3 bolts and disconnect the No. 1 inverter busbar plate.NOTE:
- Do not allow any foreign matter or water to enter the hybrid motor control inverter assembly.
- After disconnecting the No. 1 inverter busbar plate, cover the opening of the hybrid motor control inverter assembly with tape (non-residue type) or equivalent to prevent the entry of foreign matter or water.
- Do not damage the opening of the hybrid motor control inverter assembly with the tool.
- Using an insulated tool and T30 "TORX" socket wrench, remove the 3 bolts and disconnect the No. 1 inverter busbar plate.
- LIFT DOWN
- DISCONNECT NO. 4 INVERTER COOLING HOSE
- Disengage the clamp.
- Slide the clip and disconnect the No. 4 inverter cooling hose from the hybrid motor control inverter assembly.NOTE:
Apply insulating tape to the pipes and in the disconnected hoses, or cover the pipes and hoses with plastic bags to prevent foreign matter from entering the cooling system and to prevent coolant from spilling near the EV converter assembly.
- DISCONNECT RESOLVER THERMISTOR WIRE
- DISCONNECT ENGINE WIRE
- DISCONNECT BREATHER HOSE
- REMOVE O-RING
HINT:
Although the O-ring is reusable, replace it if it is damaged. - REMOVE HYBRID MOTOR CONTROL INVERTER ASSEMBLY
- Using a T30 "TORX" socket wrench, remove the 12 bolts.
- Pull the hybrid motor control inverter assembly out up to a position where it does not interfere with the No. 1 inverter busbar plate, and then remove it.NOTE:
- Pull it out completely removed from the No. 1 inverter busbar plate, so that the No. 1 inverter busbar plate is not damaged, bent, etc.
- When removing the hybrid motor control inverter assembly from the vehicle, be careful not to damage the surrounding parts.
- To prevent damage, do not hold the coolant pipes, brackets and connectors when lifting up the hybrid motor control inverter assembly.
- To prevent damage caused by static electricity, do not touch the terminals of connectors on the hybrid motor control inverter assembly side.
- If storing the hybrid motor control inverter assembly after removal, store it as shown in the illustration.
*a Connector Part *b Busbar Part *c Cooling Pipe - When storing the hybrid motor control inverter assembly after removal, be sure to leave the connector cover and non-residue tape installed to prevent the entry of foreign matter, water, etc.
- If any foreign matter or water has entered inside the hybrid motor control inverter assembly, do not reuse it.
- Do not directly touch the contact surfaces of mating parts of the hybrid motor control inverter assembly.
HINT:
Even after the coolant is drained, coolant remains in the hybrid motor control inverter assembly due to its internal structure. Therefore, plug or cover the pipes with a plastic bag when removing the hybrid motor control inverter assembly from the vehicle so that coolant does not spill out.
- REMOVE INVERTER CASE GASKET
- REMOVE INLET NO. 1 INVERTER COOLING HOSE
- REMOVE NO. 1 INVERTER BUSBAR PLATE

Perform this procedure only when replacement of the No. 1 inverter busbar plate is necessary.
