DTC P2533-14: Ignition Switch On/Start Position Circuit Low Circuit Short to Ground or Open [09/2023 - ]: Procedure

  1. READ VALUE USING GTS (IGR) 

    Pre-procedure1

    • Turn the ignition switch to ON.
    • Read the Data List.

      Powertrain > Hybrid Control > Data List 

      Tester Display
      IGR

      Standard

      Tester Display Condition Specified Condition
      IGR Ignition switch ON ON

      Result

      Result Proceed to
      The value of IGR is ON A
      The value of IGR is OFF B

    Post-procedure1

    • Turn the ignition switch off.

    Result: 

    CHECK FOR INTERMITTENT PROBLEMS. Refer to  ELECTRONIC CIRCUIT INSPECTION PROCEDURE [09/2023 - ]

  2. CHECK TERMINAL VOLTAGE (IGR VOLTAGE) 

    Pre-procedure1

    • Turn the ignition switch to ON.
    • Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

      (Hybrid Vehicle Control ECU Assembly)

      Standard Voltage

      Tester Connection Switch Condition Specified Condition Result
      B21-8 (IGR) - D44-1 (E1) Ignition switch ON 11 to 14 V V

    Post-procedure1

    • Turn the ignition switch off.

    Result: 

    OK 

    REPLACE HYBRID VEHICLE CONTROL ECU ASSEMBLY. Refer to  REMOVAL [09/2023 - 12/2023]  , or refer to  REMOVAL [12/2023 - ] 

    Result: 

    NG

  3. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (POWER DISTRIBUTION BOX ASSEMBLY - HYBRID VEHICLE CONTROL ECU ASSEMBLY) 

    Pre-procedure1

    • Disconnect the hybrid vehicle control ECU assembly connector.
    • Disconnect the power distribution box assembly connector.
    • Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance (Check for Open)

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition Result
      D63-36 - B21-8 (IGR) Always Below 1 Ω Ω

      Standard Resistance (Check for Short)

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition Result
      D63-36 or B21-8 (IGR) - Body ground and other terminals Always 10 kΩ or higher

      OK
      NG

    Post-procedure1

    • Reconnect the power distribution box assembly connector.
    • Reconnect the hybrid vehicle control ECU assembly connector.

    Result: 

    NG 

    REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    Result: 

    OK

  4. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (POWER DISTRIBUTION BOX ASSEMBLY - BODY GROUND) 

    Pre-procedure1

    • Disconnect the power distribution box assembly connectors.
    • Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition Result
      D62-36 - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω Ω
      D63-41 - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω Ω

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Post-procedure1

    • Reconnect the power distribution box assembly connectors.

    Result: 

    OK 

    REPLACE POWER DISTRIBUTION BOX ASSEMBLY. Refer to  REMOVAL [09/2023 - ]

    REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
